Chasing the Golden Hour
I grew up in La Paz, Mexico, where the sunset turns the Sea of Cortez into liquid gold. That's where I fell in love with the sky.
My father was a marine biologist and my mother a flamenco teacher — an unlikely combination that gave me both discipline and soul. I earned my private pilot's license at 19, and by 22 I was flying cargo across Central America in a beat-up Cessna Caravan.
I worked my way up through regional airlines in Mexico and the US, eventually earning my ATPL and a type rating on the A320. But the Pacific kept calling me home. In 2018 I joined Horizon Pacific Airways, and in 2022 I became one of the youngest Captains on the A350.
Today I fly the transpacific routes I once only dreamed of: Los Angeles to Tokyo, Vancouver to Singapore, San Francisco to Sydney. Every sunset at FL370 is a reminder that the sky belongs to those who chase it.
